Take a Second

What side of the cross are u focusing on?

Death or Resurrection?

To often i think our attention goes to Christs death. Don't get me wrong i understand the importance of christ's death and how he took on our sin, but what if we changed our mindset?

What if we stopped talking about christ how he died and we are now saved, to how he is alive and we are no longer just saved but righteous in his eyes!

What if we believe when he said we will do greater works than him?

What if we follow when he commands us to heal the sick, cleanse leopors and raise the dead?

What if we start believing in the life Jesus promised?

What if we start LIVING the life Jesus promised?

Where are we? PA?

Went on a camping trip this weekend.  Went as follows:
Drove.
3 hours.
Way to long. Way.
Set up tents in pouring rain.
Rain stops when we finish.
Ate some Sausages.
Kielbasa?
Jammed on the guitar for a while and hung out.
Slept, kinda.
White water rafting, kinda.
Cliff jumping!
Almost hit my butt on the way down.
60 ft +.
Where are we?
PA.
Thought we were in Jersey, huh.
Get back to camp.
Rain.
Nap.
Na, Bed.
Drive back.
Back is red - a handprint.
Should learn how to lather up better.

Lets create a JESUS CULTURE

I signed up for Jesus Culture conference today. Its Aug 12-14. I cant wait to get rocked by the holy spirit. Going to Learn a lot. Then im going to take what i learned to btown this year. Cant wait for everyone else to get in on what Christ really has in store for us.

But i have a cool story from recently. It was on my first 'Treasure Hunt'. So a treasure hunt is basically trusting in Jesus/HS to point you to individuals he has highlighted to tell them of his love or give them prayer. So heres how it works. Everyone gets a piece of paper that has different lists. Appearance, location, random word, description, body part. You get a few minutes to right whatever comes to your head under each list. We trust that christ has control and he will lead us where he wants to. Then after we match up any words that showed up multiple times. These are the people we know God wants us to find. So before we went on this i had been praying and asked god to show me where he wanted me to go. I saw red and blue colors divided almost half and half in my mind. So i was like ok not sure what this means but ok. We met in the park at 5 and i got there a lil early and was not exactly sure where to sit and just found a seat by the chess tables. Under the table was a lot ticket. Blue and Red. Ok dan your in the right spot. I look up and there is a homeless man. He smiles at me. Hes holding a waterbottle, words on top in red, words on bottom in blue. I decide to go over and talk to him. He begins to tell me all about his life and how He wants to love god but needs to find a woman first. I told him He can do both but he was insistant. Well, Christ will encounter him soon, i know I prayed. After i talked to him i knew everyone else must be in the park b/c it was after 5. I looked back near where i was sitting and recognized someone from the church, he was wearing a red shirt and blue pants. We then filled out the sheets and split up into groups. Near the end of the time we were going out to pray for people i saw a smoke shop with a big blue and red sign. Smoke shop was one of the words that 3 of 6 people had so i decided to go in. Once inside there was a guy who had a watch and i walked up to him and ask what kind of watch it was, "Swatch". 2 others had watch and i had swatch. I asked him what he does and he said he works with kids who had cancer. Another matching word 2 people had, cancer. Then the lady we were with asked him if he was thinking about switching jobs. He told us yes, and we prayed with him and sent blessings over his life. When we left the shop i asked her how she knew he was thinking about changing jobs and she just said God put it on her heart. Yeah Jesus! Another guy we were with said he was feeling in his heart to ask the cashier about becoming a minisiter. HAHA, the guy we prayed for said his brother was a minister. Its not always easy on recognizing where were being lead! But through practice/trust/faith we can walk more powerfully in the life Jesus proclaimed for us.

Midweek fun

Yesterday was one of my best days in NY..let me take you through it.

7am:
Get out of bed and take a shower. I wakeup in the morning more like 6:15 because thats when my roomates 1st alarm (he has a couple) goes off. NEways, after the shower i always have about 20 minutes to listen to worship, talk to JC, and get ready. I love the morning. Whats better than waking up and praising God. I just think its a great way to start the day.

8am:
Work. The mornings are very relaxing. I catch up on all the news. Shoot the breeze with my fellow interns which is always fun. I seem to get joked on a lot. I cant really explain why but oh well its fun. K so i just realized i said i was going to tell u what happened yesterday and now im just generalizing, sorry, ADD, cant help it.

12pm:
I went to eat at a place called Gigi's. I eat there cuz bloomberg gets a discount and they have a pretty dec turkey sub. My turkey sub yesterday was really good. but i will admit i was disappointed there wasn't any sun chips out at the office so i had to settle with something like Cape Cod, idk it was in a small whitebag with a lighthouse maybe. They were good. Then after we went to sit on the spiral couch (picture on my facebook). This couch is amazing. not sure why but it just hits you the right way, kindof like that feeling when ur craving a turkey sandwich or a chocolate shake and your amazing friends just show up with one ;) yall no what im talking about.

2pm:
At 2 all rising seniors went to a networking/application meeting about working at BBerg. That honestly dragged and was tough. And for some reason i got really hot. Which is important later.

5pm:
we get out of the meeting and i rush home to change. After the meeting they were serving us dinner but i had to get out of my suit. On the way out they were still setting up the food but one of the guys let me snake a miniburger. I told him i would pray for him, his name is Wellington if you want to to.

515pm:
get home and scramble to change. ok so heres where the hot meeting comes into play. Im really glad i was my suit jacket cuz no joke i set the record for how big a right armpit pit stain can be. It was spreading around my arm so i couldn't even hide it if my arms were at my side. Yikes. I actually took a moment to look at it and all i could say is wow Dan you might have a condition.

545pm:
Make it back for the feast. Miniburgers, pigs in a blanket, free range chicken wings, pasta, lasagna, salad, fries, bread, ect. And it was all pretty upscale, not ur micky d's editon.

6ishpm:
I talked with Shlay on the phone for awhile. Great great great stuff. So encouraging to see what gods doing in our life. I love when we let Christ out of the box. He is only as big as our minds. So free your minds and stop measuring/approaching him from an earthly perspective. Oh and i got to hear an awesome story of a new sister in Christ. Amen/thanks for making me cry in the office.

7pm:
Leave to go to Blue Man Group which was paid for by our work. Rode the subway with Mohamed. He's another intern who sits right by me. Ive been praying a lot for Christ to present opportunities at the office. Mo loves to prod/joke/Q me about my faith which is great. He is an awesome guy. Very smart and i know through our convos Christs been working in his heart, whether he knows it or not.

8pm:
BLUE MAN. The show was soooooo freaking sweet. It was in a small cramped theatre. I sat second row balcony, perfect seats. I had so much fun. I think a smile didn't leave my face the entire time. They also had an undertone message in certain parts that suggested we are becoming dehumanized and technology is taking away the human aspect of life. Like how we sit cramped next to someone else in an Internet coffee shop and talk to people somewhere else. Could u imagine if God sent you messages through emails or txts. Ok yeah that would be sweet, like really sweet cuz i donno ab you but a lot of times my thick head gets in the way but I would much rather God speak to my heart and mind. ALSOOOO, I got on Stage! yeah they called me up for one of there skits. I didn't really do much. They put me in a suit and gave me a biker helmet, then they walked me off stage and someone else in the same outfit came and they painted him, tied him to a rope, and smashed him into a canvas (they thought it was me). Then i was put in a box with jello around my entire head and they wheeled me on stage ripped it off and out i popped. YAY. The whole time my heart was like about to pound out of my chest. im not sure why i was so nervous but wow it was funny looking back.

K so the night before that I went to a dinner party with a friend who lives in Queens. It was great. The ages were me 22, Bianca 24, Victor 30, Mo 40's, peter mid 20's, another guy 40's (he only came at the end so i cant rem his name) it was so much fun being in older company. And the fooood. Maybe the best ive had since being to NY. Victor is from Honduras and can cook like nobody's biz. We had chicken, potatoes, risotto, peppers, and wine. I prayed b4 i came to be bold and for God to open an easy path to conversation ab him. In the beginning of the night MO was asking me what i wanna do and i was telling him all about that. Then at din when everyone was sitting down he asked me whether i thought the bible was real or literature. AMEN. This sparked awesome conversation and i got to tell him about the things that ive been experiencing recently and the power/love of God. Well this lead into awesome discussion from the table from believers and non and Christ was def there. God is good. Then it lead into the paranormal and all this stuff and during our convo we heard a small child, the 50 lb door that was closed (we checked after the 1st time) opened up twice. Creepy. But never being impressed by the devil. He can open door, wow, He bows at the mention of Jesus. Sucker.

All in all the last 2 nights have been just splendid.

cheers
